Paris Haul!

Hi everyone! I hope that you are all well. Today's post will be a haul post. As some of you may know, I recently went to Paris. A lot of french skincare is raved about in the beauty world and even though I'm lucky as a Canadian to have some of these brands here, the price differences in Paris were astonishing! I thought I would take the opportunity to buy things that I would not be able to find here by certain brands and also stock up on some old favorites and of course rack up the savings. Here's a mish/mash of everything that I bought beauty related while I was in Paris.

If you ever end up going to Paris, let me tell you, finding these things is not hard at all. On nearly every street corner there's a french pharmacie and you can tell with its bright green sign. A lot of the stores carry their own deals so I recommend checking out a bunch of them since some stores carry certain brands while other stores don't!

Bioderma products - I got the face wipes because I love the micellaire cleansing water already so I'm curious to see how the wipes are and it is not available here. Also I opted for the handcream set and the lipbalm set because it's not available in Canada either and I wanted to get some beauty products as presents for friends too and it was easier to buy it as a bundle!

My beloved Embryolisse moisturizer. This is holy-grail status right here. I love this stuff so much and I never want to be without it! What an awesome deal I got for a duo pack since I was first introduced to this at IMATS but even with the currency exchange, I paid nearly half in Paris for two for what I would have paid for one at home!

Phyto 7 - if you watch Lisa Eldridge's long haul flight video you know that she raved about this. We have phyto products at sephora but they are quite expensive. I am a huge fan of the shampoo but I did not manage to find it in stock, so I just opted for this leave-in treatment. I've been using it loads since I got it so expect a full review!

Lastly, I got some good old favorites which I love and I stocked up since the price difference again is staggering. I got the nuxe lip balm (I think I am the only person who prefers the stick version to the pot version) and I got two extra bottles of Bioderma even though I already have some at home (can never have too much of this) and I also got a cleansing water that we do not have in Canada and it's a micellaire water but for dehydrated skin. I have not given it a whirl yet, but I shall keep you all updated!

I loved browsing in the French pharmacies because it was quite something to see a drugstore filled completely with skincare. It's awesome and the deals they have too are wonderful. It was my favorite place to shop and you can ask the boy, we wondered into many pharmacies during our week there! I highly recommend checking it out even if you are not familiar with French pharmacy brands because they are quite something! :)

I hope to have a Paris post up soon and I'm thinking of doing them alongside with the Paris vlogs that have been going up on my youtube channel, except I will include more photos in the posts, so be on the lookout for that!

I hope that you all enjoyed this post and I will see you all in my next one!

thanks so much for reading! xo

Dahlia Noir L'eau Review

Hi everyone. I hope you are all well. I have some exciting news for you all today. If you are a fan of the original Dahlia Noir perfume from Givenchy, theres a new product launch that incorporates Dahlia Noir but makes it a lot more spring/summer appropriate: it's the L'eau version! It has a much more fresher scent that it's older sister and I think its going to be one of my favorites for the warmer months to come!

Dahlia Noir L'Eau (90ml)*

It has similar packaging to it's predecessor but it has a ~fresher~ look to it and is green as opposed to pink! it is said to still have the rose petal as the middle note which is evident, but where the previous Dahlia Noir was in my opinion more suitable for the evenings, this edition of L'eau is perfect for everyday!

What does Givenchy have to say about it? "A brighter, fruitier version of the original composition, but still every bit as sensuous. Light is born of darkness. As though blotting out, the black sun, brightness surges forth from a crystalline accord of citron and neroli, their crisp, green accents as translucent as a fine silk veil. Under pinning it all, a hint of patchouli intermingles with essences of cedar and musk to give the discreetly chypre trail an aura of Couture sophistication"

Price Tag? $71 for 50ml and $95 for 100ml - available at The Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart & Sephora

My Overall Thoughts? I have tried many Givenchy fragrances and my family is also a huge fan of Givenchy fragrances, and I have to say this is my favorite release by them as of yet. It's such a nice fresh scent but is also very florally with the rose scent very prominent and it's great for everyday. I've been wearing it to work but also in the evenings when I am out and it's lovely. It's a L'eau EDT version but it really lasts a long time on the skin which I love! I highly recommend that you make a stop at one of the shops listed above and give this a sniff, you will not regret it.

Have you tried the newer version of Dahlia Noir by Givenchy? Let me know in the comments below!

April Favorites

Hi everyone. Long time no see! I am so sorry for the lack of posts around here. I got back from my lovely vacation and I've been swamped with work, so I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. I love favorites posts so even though this is late, I thought you all would still like to hear what I loved recently! :)

Bumble & Bumble BB Straight Blow Dry - my hair is usual already straight but sometimes it does turn a bit wavy and I really like to use this for a more sleek and polished look. Really styles my hair nicely and I apply it to damp here and then flip my hair and start blow-drying it that way, it's awesome!

Ole-Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel & Truth is in the Eyes, Vitamin C Peel Concentrate - I use the eye gel at night and the peel concentrate in the morning and I find its really helping slowly reduce dark circles. My origins vitazing is sadly not cutting it anymore and isn't as moisturizing as I would like, so these have been a great alternative!

Tresemme Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment - This is an amazing drugstore deep conditioner. It does wonders on my hair and it says that it repairs up to 2 years of damage and I don't know how true that is.. but my hair is super soft and shiny after I use it and I love it!

Kenzo Madly Perfume* - I received this just before I left to Paris. I do not own anything by Kenzo, but I have given them a sniff in shops before and it smells amazing. I really like this scent as its flowery, but kind of musky at the same time. I think it's lovely for springtime/summer!

Givenchy Jelly Blush* - This is such a cool product! Seriously. I love it so much and it gives the most natural looking blush to your cheeks and it just looks so lovely and perfect for summertime. Be on the lookout for a full review on this beauty!

What were your favorite products for the month of April?

Finished Products #16

Hi everyone, I hope that you are all well. Today's post is another empty's post for you all :D

MAC Eyebrow Set
I really liked this eyebrow gel cause it was simple and did the job. But it is quite pricey for what it is so I think I'll just stick to a regular drugstore generic brand next time!

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate
I love this moisturizer so much and it's definitely my favorite yet. It's really thick and moisturizing and great for my sensitive skin and it really lasts all day but also sinks into the skin fairly quickly. I am already on my second tube!

The Body Shop Grapefruit Shower Gel
Another great shower gel from the body shop. the scent is exactly grapefruit and it lathers up really well! I also recently finished the body scrub too, but that's for another empties post. I hope to repurchase this again, it's lovely!

Klorane Shampoo
This was a great shampoo and I believe it had goat's milk in it as one of the ingredients? It was kind of watery, so you need a bit more than usual but it left my hair feeling really clean afterwards and it did not irritate my scalp at all!

Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Masque
I've had this for so long and I finally finished it. It really is a lovely product and one of the best deep conditioning hair treatments I've ever tried. It is pricey however, so I hope to find it on sale or on discount next time I buy it!

that's it for my empties this time. What products did you recently finish? Let me know in the comments below!
